Bill Bohan and crew have photographed dozens of hiking trails in and around Sedona. If you’d like to preview the terrain and panoramas of a particular hike before you head out, check their fine collection of trail shots taken by members of their group. Most hikes feature photos by multiple participants providing different individual perspectives of the same hike and highlighting each hiker’s personal viewpoint of the area.

Ramblin’ Patrick’s Sedona Photoblog
www.patrickssedonanotebook.com

Photos and thoughts on “Nature’s Cathedral” as Patrick calls Sedona. Patrick Hickey posts photos and interesting ramblings on his photoblog monthly. His archives go back a couple of years and include his thoughts on all things Sedona. Recent articles like “We Are All Sedonans”, “Where Labor Meets Love”, and “Legacy of a Self-Made Woman” (Lois Stalvey) express his deep feelings for Sedona and its inhabitants; humans, plants, and animals. He’s a “new old-timer” like myself having spent over 15 years as a local resident. Though I have him beat at 34 years in town and the area, I know locals who have spent their entire life in the area and consider anyone here less than 50 years a newcomer! On one lucky day I met with Laura Purtymun McBride who told me about her horseback rides deep into Boynton Canyon back in 1915. She was in her 90’s at the time and still had a lot of love for Sedona in spite of all the changes. Patrick’s writing leads me to believe he might just be the one to be sharing similar thoughts to newcomers in 50 years. Thanks for your insightful words Patrick.
